Omar Odeh is the executive communications officer, working to shape strategic narratives from the Office of the Chancellor to the campus and beyond. Omar collaborates with the chancellor, provost, and colleagues from across the campus to elevate institutional themes and communicate the chancellor’s vision and strategy to internal and external stakeholders across multiple platforms.
Omar is a seasoned professional with deep experience in marketing, communications, business development and strategic positioning. He brings a unique global perspective to higher education, having served as the chief communications officer at the American University of Beirut, Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi and Georgia College & State University. Omar previously worked in the private sector for Hewlett-Packard and Alcatel-Lucent in various market research and business intelligence roles.
Omar received an undergraduate degree in economics from the American University in Cairo and a master's degree in international transactions from George Mason University. He completed all doctoral coursework for a PhD in foreign affairs from the University of Virginia.
