About
Andrew is the Freedom of Information Act officer and communications specialist, coordinating the responses to requests for public records from the public and members of the news media. He joined UIC University Communications in April 2023.
Prior to joining UIC, Andrew was a FOIA officer for the Chicago Police Department. Leading a unit of FOIA officers, he was tasked with responding to FOIA requests and other inquiries from members of the media. Before working at the Chicago Police Department, he was a departmental analyst with the State of Michigan Department of Treasury. He has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Michigan State University.
Fun fact: Andrew has a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Donut.
