Tanner Lewey joined UIC in 2023 as social media editor and strategist in UIC Strategic Marketing and Communications.
Tanner has worked in communications and marketing in higher education for more than five years, including her most recent positions as the outreach and student engagement librarian for the University Library at California State University, Stanislaus, and as the outreach and evening librarian at McDaniel College's Hoover Library. In these roles, she oversaw all library communication and marketing efforts, including acting as the sole social media manager and content creator.
Tanner also serves as the social media manager for the Library Marketing and Communications Conference on the marketing committee. She obtained her Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Fun fact: Tanner is excited to rejoin the University of Illinois System and return home to Chicago.
