About
Jackie Carey is assistant vice chancellor for storytelling and content strategy, supporting a team of writers and strategic thinkers who find, cultivate and share powerful stories about UIC students, faculty, staff and alumni.
Jackie joined UIC in 2016. In her tenure with the university, she has also served as the media relations contact for UI Health and as the lead communicator for UIC science and research stories.
Prior to joining UIC, Jackie held public affairs roles on integrated marketing communications teams for health care and higher education institutions, helping to lead media, internal and crisis communications. She has a master’s in communication from Boston University and a bachelor’s in English and rhetoric from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Fun fact: Jackie likes elephants and hedgehogs.
