About
Katie Hession is director of marketing and media engagement. Her responsibilities include overseeing the university's media and digital advertising strategy, brand building, campaign development, and licensing and filming programs.
Katie joined UIC in 2019, leading the development of the university's new logo and identity framework, which led to an official university name change.
Prior to joining UIC, Katie held various marketing communications positions helping to build and launch strong leadership brands, including at the Chicago Sun-Times, Tribune Publishing and Loyola University Chicago.
Her work has been recognized by the American Marketing Association as the Best Nonprofit Campaign, and Katie was a finalist for nonprofit marketer of the year.
A native of Chicago, Katie is a graduate of Loyola's Quinlan School of Business.
Fun fact: Katie has met an astronaut.
