Mariela Garcia is a business strategist on the Analytics and Alignment team at UIC, ensuring operational efficiency by managing projects, coordinating logistics and supporting high-level communication efforts. Her work drives alignment across teams and fosters a collaborative, results-oriented environment focused on advancing the university’s strategic priorities.
With over a decade of experience at UIC, she previously served in various roles within the otolaryngology department at UI Health, including marketing communication manager, event coordinator, administrative assistant and medical staff services specialist. Mariela brings extensive expertise in marketing, event coordination, fiscal planning and project management. Her prior experience also includes serving as associate office manager at Rush University Medical Center. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business, with a concentration in marketing, from DePaul University.
Mariela is known for her strong work ethic, strategic mindset and dedication to building effective, results-driven teams.
Fun fact: Outside of UIC, Mariela is also a licensed realtor with a passion for interior design — she loves helping people find and create their dream spaces.
