Antonie Boessenkool is the senior copy editor and writer for University Communications, curating engaging, informative content for UIC today and providing strategic editorial leadership for UIC communications.
Antonie has 20 years of experience in journalism in Washington, D.C., and across California, covering business, arts and entertainment and other topics. Most recently, she was the features editor for a daily newspaper in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she led coverage of dining, wine, arts and music. Antonie grew up in Michigan and has a master's degree in journalism from American University in Washington, D.C.
Fun fact: Antonie has backpacked through Central and South America and Europe, but the West Michigan shore of Lake Michigan is her favorite place. She also takes a sketchbook with her wherever she goes.
