Student Ambassador – FOIA & Communications Support Specialist

Curious about how criminal justice, public records, and institutional accountability work? Join our team as a Student Ambassador focused on FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) and public records, and gain hands-on experience in an important and often behind-the-scenes area of university operations.

In this role, you’ll also gain exposure to the legal and governmental frameworks that shape public institutions. You will support the process of managing and responding to FOIA public records requests, helping ensure the university meets its legal and ethical responsibilities. You’ll learn how to review, organize, and prepare documents, while gaining insight into how large institutions balance transparency with privacy, compliance, and effective communication.  Beyond FOIA work, you’ll also gain a deeper understanding of how a university operates behind the scenes.
